Description
A classic breakfast combination wrapped in buttery crescent dough. These rolls are easy to grab on the go and perfect for meal prepping.
Ingredients
- 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 rolls)
- 4 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled (or use pre-cooked bacon bits)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon milk
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- Optional: chopped chives or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven:
- Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to preheat while you prepare the other ingredients.
- Cook the bacon:
- If you haven’t already, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove from the skillet and drain on a paper towel. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.
- Prepare the eggs:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the egg mixture into a skillet and scramble over medium-low heat until just set (slightly undercooked). Remove from heat and set aside.
- Roll out the crescent dough:
- Open the can of crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles. Lay them out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Add the filling:
- On the wide end of each crescent triangle, place a spoonful of scrambled eggs, a pinch of crumbled bacon, and a sprinkle of shredded cheese.
- Roll and seal:
- Starting from the wide end, roll each triangle toward the narrow end, sealing the filling inside. Place each roll on the baking sheet with the pointed end facing down.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown.
- Serve:
- Optionally, garnish with chopped chives or parsley for added color and flavor. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Bacon options: You can use turkey bacon, ham, or even vegetarian bacon substitutes if preferred. Pre-cooked bacon saves time and reduces mess.
Cheese choices: Cheddar works well, but other types like mozzarella, pepper jack, or Swiss can be substituted for different flavors.
Make-ahead: The rolls can be prepared the night before and stored in the refrigerator. Bake them fresh in the morning.
Freezing instructions: Prepare and bake the rolls as directed, let them cool completely, and freeze individually wrapped. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes or until heated through.
Additional fillings: Sautéed onions, bell peppers, or spinach can be added to the filling for more flavor and nutrition.
