Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Crescent Rolls

  • Author: Angie Taylor
  • Total Time: 27 minutes

Description

A classic breakfast combination wrapped in buttery crescent dough. These rolls are easy to grab on the go and perfect for meal prepping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 rolls)
  • 4 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled (or use pre-cooked bacon bits)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • Optional: chopped chives or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven:
    • Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to preheat while you prepare the other ingredients.
  2. Cook the bacon:
    • If you haven’t already, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove from the skillet and drain on a paper towel. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.
  3. Prepare the eggs:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
    • Pour the egg mixture into a skillet and scramble over medium-low heat until just set (slightly undercooked). Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Roll out the crescent dough:
    • Open the can of crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles. Lay them out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Add the filling:
    • On the wide end of each crescent triangle, place a spoonful of scrambled eggs, a pinch of crumbled bacon, and a sprinkle of shredded cheese.
  6. Roll and seal:
    • Starting from the wide end, roll each triangle toward the narrow end, sealing the filling inside. Place each roll on the baking sheet with the pointed end facing down.
  7. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown.
  8. Serve:
    • Optionally, garnish with chopped chives or parsley for added color and flavor. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Bacon options: You can use turkey bacon, ham, or even vegetarian bacon substitutes if preferred. Pre-cooked bacon saves time and reduces mess.

Cheese choices: Cheddar works well, but other types like mozzarella, pepper jack, or Swiss can be substituted for different flavors.

Make-ahead: The rolls can be prepared the night before and stored in the refrigerator. Bake them fresh in the morning.

Freezing instructions: Prepare and bake the rolls as directed, let them cool completely, and freeze individually wrapped. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes or until heated through.

Additional fillings: Sautéed onions, bell peppers, or spinach can be added to the filling for more flavor and nutrition.
